October Sewing

My relative silence doesn’t mean I haven’t been sewing… I’m still absorbed in the Ice & Fire books though, lol!

Anyway, some recent sewing endeavors…

An Alice smock (using this tutorial) for my favorite ginger baby, Ellie.  She’s turning 1 in a few days, but we’re missing her party.  She also got a matching little messenger bag (using this tutorial), and some other cute clothes (purchased).

I’ve also been swapping Echino 10″ squares – this is what round 1 yielded:

And this is the print I’m sending for round 2:

I’m thinking I’m going to end up with 2 pretty patchwork lap quilts from these swaps.

I also whipped up a little baby quilt top, to have on hand the next time I need one for a gift:

And I put together my Heather Ross squares (finally) – the top measures 56″ square:

It’s added to the “needs quilting” list.

And I received all of these blocks (plus the one I made) in the 4×5 bee:

I made this block for Val for A Notion or Two:

And my month is November in A Notion or Two, so I made up this sample block:

I’m having everyone make the Japanese X/+ blocks using Amy’s tutorial, with a loose color scheme of red/aqua/gray, with gray on white background squares.

And finally, I sent off my pillow to my mystery partner in the Pillow Talk Swap:

Steve said he was disappointed to see this one leave, so I’ll have to make another one for him.  (For more details, click on the photo.)

And finally, I’m working on binding Jason & Christina’s wedding guestbook quilt.  I’ll post a photo once complete (and hopefully with the quilt’s owners).
