Our godson Kyle had birthday #4 last week. Being the spoiley lot that we are, we decided to start him on Legos, so I bought a big 400 pack on Amazon + a couple of the 10″ boards.
I decided he also needed a containment device for the Legos – everything I saw online was too big (not portable) and too expensive. So I decided to make up a Lego Monster bag to hold everything. The eyes are felt and I used a Pigma pen for the “x” pupils. The zipper is a regular old poly zipper – I couldn’t find anything with metal or plastic teeth in a 12″ size at Joanns (which was as far as I expanded my search).
Steve did assist me in the making of the Lego Monster – he suggested adding the felt fangs (he felt it wasn’t obviously a monster until that point).
Steve was able to give the gift in person last night – he invites himself over for dinner with Kyle & his parents whenever he has the chance while up on business in the San Jose area. Apparently the little guy wanted to wait on the porch all day for Uncle Steve – he’s too cute!

so cute! I love that the zipper creates a mouth for the lego monster.
This looks AWESOME! Good job! What was Kyle’s reaction?
What a great idea! I just got some Japanese Lego fabric, too. HHHMMMM….
