NMSS

Let me tell you a little story…  Steve and I have some friends, a couple – both are our age, late 20s.  And sometimes, just sometimes, he will steal her food off her plate, and she won’t notice.  Now, that probably sounds like you and your own significant other…or your friends, etc. etc.  However, this act of stealing is an attempt on the part of our friend to have a little bit of fun with his wife – because she has MS, which effects her peripheral vision.  And that’s really an insignificant symptom compared to some of the other crap she’s had to deal with…such as total vision loss for weeks, trips to all sorts of speciality doctors to try to figure out what is wrong with her and what can be done to help, and of course, any monetary losses experienced from all of this business.

So this is a little personal cause for us – and seriously, we want to do our part to stop the french fry stealing…and the not-so-funny things that result from this disease.  Plus, we aren’t quite the smarty pants that our guy friend is, and aren’t able to volunteer our academic efforts to help Johns Hopkins with their MS research.

Please help support my hubby Steve as he rides 175 160 miles this weekend in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  NMSS is dedicated to moving us toward a world free of MS. They fund research to prevent, better treat, and cure this unpredictable disease, and help people with MS to live powerful, meaningful lives.

And when you’re in your late 20s like our friend, you generally have a lot of time to lead a meaningful life!  On top of that, our friend is perhaps one of the smartest people I know (and of course, kind, funny, and beautiful), so her talents are perhaps a bit more than average, IMHO.  Any little bit you are able to give will help – and for all of you that are able to itemize your tax deductions, NMMS is an approved charitable organization, so you can deduct your donation.

Steve’s Donation Page

As an added bonus, you’ll receive a complimentary photo of Steve in spandex to all who contribute for you to proudly display on your refrigerators.  I mean, who wouldn’t want that??  Be sure to forward on to your friends so they don’t miss out :-P

Oh, and in case you’re unclear as to my role in the fight against MS, I provide spousal support for Steve, since I sure as heck can’t ride a bike for 175 miles over 2 days… ;)   And of course, by contributing to his marketing campaign here and on Facebook!

Hope your husband has a great ride! I’ll be doing an MS150 in Louisiana this weekend. It’s a fantastic event.

Just a small correction National Multiple Sclerosis Society is NMSS… not NMMS…

And I’m only riding 160 miles (though it will likely feel like 175 or worse)

    Love you honey bunny,
