Parisville Redux

The little miss is becoming a bit more demanding of my attention during the day (aka, she’s actually staying awake – sometimes because she has some awful gassiness going on), so I haven’t been doing much sewing the past couple of weeks unless Steve is around to give me a break.  She likes the [...]

A Reveal

Remember this random (but awesome, in my humble opinion) purple star block I mentioned here?

Here’s where happened to the block I sent…  I loved being able to give back a tiny bit to say thanks to someone who so faithfully worked on quilt blocks for us for so many months!  Such a [...]

Hiatus

It’s official!  I’m now on my self-imposed, 6-month minimum hiatus from sewing for people I don’t know (aka, no bees or swaps).  And I gotta say, it already feels good.  Maybe just because I don’t have any energy for sewing right now??

Anywho, I finished up my 4×5 bee blocks, and mailed them out, [...]

Featured…Sort of…

Jessica of Twin Fibers was one of the girlies in the Pieced Together Quilting Bee that I participated in, and I made this block for her.

That wonky star shadow block is one of my more favorite blocks I’ve made, probably just because of the fabrics!

So it was nice to see Jessica’s [...]

November Sewing

Minimal amount of time spent in my girl cave thus far in November… between vacation (more on DC/NYC as soon as I dump photos from Steve’s camera), Jöelle’s baby shower, and being gone over Thanksgiving weekend, this past weekend was really my only chance to catch up on my bee blocks.

First, I made [...]

October Sewing

My relative silence doesn’t mean I haven’t been sewing… I’m still absorbed in the Ice & Fire books though, lol!

Anyway, some recent sewing endeavors…

An Alice smock (using this tutorial) for my favorite ginger baby, Ellie.  She’s turning 1 in a few days, but we’re missing her party.  She also got a [...]

My Goose is Cooked

The 4×5 bee blocks for this quarter are dunzo.  As am I.  At least for a bit.

Until next time. [...]

Seeing Red

On Monday, I decided to labor over bee blocks for One Block Over and A Notion or Two..

4 hours & several brain melt-downs later, I had one block done. Yes. Just one. I really like the Octagonia pattern, so I bought it.  Tracy asked for a traditional block for her mother, she sent [...]

Something Different

I don’t often devote a post to a singular quilting bee block, but Andrea threw a curveball for June in One Block Over.  I spent part of Sunday playing catch up from June…

She requested a free-pieced abstract block, ala Ton Shulten.  I’m not arty, so I had never heard of or seen his [...]

Dedication

Janeth is one of my A Notion or Two bee buddies.

She has embarked on a project to make a 4″ quilt block each day for 365 days.  Quite the undertaking, one which I will probably never tackle myself.  I only wish I were responsible for this fabulousness:
