This post most appropriately describes an Angelino’s view on the weather – at least, in my humble opinion. The gist? We’re so used to basically perfect weather conditions that any minor change (which would barely register on my radar in the Midwest) is deemed strange. I haven’t yet succumbed to wearing more than an [...] …it’s not hot here. Y’all are welcome to visit. Even if the temp cranks up, I’ll have Steve blow up the pool floaties for you. And by 4pm, the pool is usually pretty shaded. On a related note, I’m pretty sure I’m going to have heat stroke while in Nebraska next weekend for [...] I realized last week that Steve has been gone a lot lately for work…not for a significant period of time, usually just 1-2 days. But 5 trips in about 5 weeks for him (plus he was gone overnight a couple of weeks ago for the SoCal Ragnar Relay – his team was 88th out [...] I got my weekly email from Goldstar last Tuesday, and to my complete delight, they had cheapy tix to see the LA Derby Dolls in action on Saturday! We teamed up with our friends Jason & Christina (who are just about to move to Connecticut for a couple of years, boo hoo! *sniff [...] So this past Monday was the hottest day EVER (of all days since tracking began of such things) in Los Angeles. 113 degrees is pretty much miserable. It hasn’t really been hot all summer, and then WHAM! Heat smack as soon as the calendar officially says fall! There are several reasons to live in [...] My bro came out to visit for a week & left on Saturday, July 24th. On my way back from dropping him @ the airport, I parked the car and headed to the Long Beach quilt show. What really struck me this year was the lack of exhibit quilts – wasn’t nearly the same [...] So I’ve sort of been attempting a photo-a-day project for my 28th year of life, as documented through Facebook. The reality ends up being 2-3/week, which is still more than I would have done. But I thought I would share yesterday’s (blurry iphone) photo w/you…specifically, I was thinking Beth might want to see… [...] Steve & I have been carpooling most days since we moved further away from both of our work places. Last night, we stopped into the Torrance Walmart on our way home to see if they happened to have a mirror for the main bath. We also wanted more fish for the tank, because they [...] OK, this is weird…there’s a cemetary relatively close to our new house, which in itself is unusual (I’ve only ever seen 2 cemetaries in SoCal, outside of the National Cemetary located here). The gravestones are all the kind that are flat against the ground versus tall gravestones (and no monuments either), so it sort of [...] I’ve definitely been disengaged from all things crafty for the past week and a half…and to some extent, disengaged from life in general.
