The little miss is becoming a bit more demanding of my attention during the day (aka, she’s actually staying awake – sometimes because she has some awful gassiness going on), so I haven’t been doing much sewing the past couple of weeks unless Steve is around to give me a break. She likes the [...] Life with Kit has been going well – she usually has at least one 3-4 hour stretch of sleep at night, which is fantastic. My teenage & early 20s self would have never dreamed that I would be excited to have 4 hours of sleep in a row, but that’s the new reality in [...] My relative silence doesn’t mean I haven’t been sewing… I’m still absorbed in the Ice & Fire books though, lol! Anyway, some recent sewing endeavors… An Alice smock (using this tutorial) for my favorite ginger baby, Ellie. She’s turning 1 in a few days, but we’re missing her party. She also got a [...] Warning: no photos in this post to protect the innocent: my friend Jöelle. She’s 20 weeks preggo with “Minion,” a baby girl. (Minion apparently has something to do with Megamind, but as I haven’t seen that movie yet, I’ll have to take dad Gabo’s word that the nickname is funny.) I showed a preview [...] I’ve started my 3rd quilt using Tula Pink’s Parisville fabric. Pretty simple this time – just one fabric, much less than the crazy Troll Hair quilt or even the restrained, yet colorful Arrondissements. IF YOUR NAME IS NOT JÖELLE, you can get a sneak peak here. (first, thanks to Ronit for help with the naming – although I’m a complete space case and forgot to actually label the quilt – guess I will do it over Christmas!) But without further ado, I give you Arrondissements (click photo to see it bigger on Flickr): Karissa & Broc’s wedding quilt – [...] and I cannot lie… You other brothers can’t deny… That when Tula Punk comes out with a new fabric line, I will buy it and quilt it. Cutting into Prince Charming, Mr. Frog is 18″. And the yellow? Kona Crush Pineapple. Yum! Well, Fedex is usually a man, but sometimes a woman… but anyway, the Fedex person is going to pick up my SIL Karissa’s wedding gift quilt today to send to Margaret @ Mainely Quilts of Love. I was sewing right up to the time I gave myself to shower before Steve and I left [...] I’ve been hemming & hawing about how to spend the Whipstitch Groupon I purchased back in February. I knew I probably should be practical & spend it on more Parisville to make some pillowcases to go with Karissa’s wedding quilt. But that would only use up about half of the groupon amount.
