AQB2 Owl Quilt

This isn’t really an important post, more that I wanted to have my plan available somewhere easily accessible…
This is my highly sophisticated, Excel-generated plan for my owl blocks for my month in AQB2:

I’ll need to make 2 blocks total for myself… And I should have enough 9-patches once I swap with Michelle.

Guess What?

I managed to finish my Owly 9-Patches for swapping with Michelle.  Now we just have to figure out when (not anytime soon!) and where to meet up for the big exchange of goods!

I also sewed up a new bag for my tripod, since I couldn’t (comfortably) put the old bag [...]

Owl Get There

Michelle and I are doing a private owl 9-patch block exchange…and we’re both taking our sweet ol’ time with it (or maybe it’s just me).  But I’m getting there, and may be done this week, but I think work will get in the way (in fact, I’m blogging 3 posts on Sunday night, and letting [...]

My New Tote

I have a new tote bag.
And surprisingly, I didn’t make it.
Even more surprising, it’s made from fabrics that you can’t exactly buy yet.
I think you’ll like it – very cute, and you know I love owls.

Yeah, I might have received this from Ms. Pink, she was giving away samples made from Hushabye, due out in [...]

Is It Time for Applique?

See, here I go…can’t stop posting now!  3 posts in less than 24 hours…
Anywho, this pattern makes me want to figure out the mystery of applique:

I know October is a long way off…but maybe a scrappy owl applique quilt might be what I want people to make for my month for AQB2…  But I dunno [...]

Wendell follow-up

The prob w/Wendell is that I didn’t get enough seam allowance going on him…so I think if I were to gift to any small child, he might be too “loved” and fall apart. Plus, I’m still not very good at all with stitching up the stuffing hole (I think there is a proper term for [...]

Wendell

This is my first attempt at a softie… He measures approximately 8″ across. I decided to call him Wendell. His backside is Flutterby patchwork, which mis-cut rectangles (my quilty math is lacking). I think he is adorable, but not in good enough condition to actually gift to any of the numerous small monsters/children [...]

Oh wait, one more thing

Maybe I haven’t fully explained my obsession with owls. It all started with these PJ capris from Target:

There are now matchy slippers @ Target – need to get my paws on those before they disappear.
Then there was the Scrabble tile pendant which I had to get.
Then the Tula Pink fabric…
Then the fabric used [...]
